The Fragrance of Beauty
Think about the first time you really felt God’s love for you: The time you repented of your sin; the moment you believed that Jesus was YOUR savior; and the wonderful feeling of being set free from sin and the incredible sense of His eternal love for you. It was a covenant time between you and Jesus! A covenant based on love! An everlasting love bond between you and your savior! Think about it.....where were you? Do you remember? Perhaps it was in a Sunday school room when you were a child, or maybe at the altar in church, or maybe someone prayed with you in your living room. Whenever you felt that amazing love come into your life, it is probably a cherished memory that stands alone above all other memories. It is like a sweet smelling fragrance that wafts through the course of your life.
When God’s mercy and grace changed your life from the inside out, it was like having true beauty for the first time! It’s not beauty as the world knows it, but it’s the reflection of Christ in our life that makes us truly beautiful. Only grace can cause this magnificent transformation in your life! It is truly beauty from the inside out! (Heb. 13:9 says, “....For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace....”) Because of His glorious grace we are free from the torment of fear, the tentacles of worry, the harshness of hatred, and the infection of inferiority. The things that really make a woman ugly are removed out of her life through a continual love covenant with Christ. Grace is the redeeming factor of a woman’s soul. No matter what you do or how much you are inflicted with sin, when you come to Jesus requesting forgiveness from your shame, he lavishly applies the beauty of Grace to your life! He keeps applying it to your life over and over until you reflect his image more than your own. Ps. 90:17 says, “And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us!”
Eau de Love became the perfume that Christ gave you! It is a beautiful scent that can be lavishly soaked into your life. All you have to do is come to the one who loves you most and request His forgiveness and help. This is the most expensive perfume that you will ever wear! And He gives it to you freely, just for the asking!
The fragrance of His love and the beauty of His grace make us a “sweet smelling savor” to the world around us. (II Cor. 2:15 says, “For we are unto God a sweet savor of Christ...”.) He places his fragrance of love in us that we will carry that expensive fragrance to those around us that they may desire him and his essence more. Have you ever been around someone who smelled really great with a particular scent and you asked them what it was? Do those around you smell the sweet fragrance of Christ in your life? Do you leave a pleasant aroma? If you do, then they will desire to apply the fragrance of his love to their lives.
