“WORK OPPORTUNITIES”
By Vicki Crosby-Attipoe

As the old cliché goes, "opportunity knocks but once". So, who is behind the opportunity that is knocking on your door? Is every opportunity from God? How can we determine which of those opportunities presented to us are truly from Him?

“Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” Colossians 4:5-6 (NIV)

The Lord’s righteous are not limited to just one opportunity. In fact, we are presented with many opportunities daily to help us to achieve our career or ministry goals. Some of these present our ability to demonstrate the sweet fragrance of God’s amazing grace, unconditional love, wisdom, hope, purity, strength, courage, and so forth to our co-workers.

It is incredible to see the Philosophy™ body and bath product line named after God’s amazing grace, hope, and unconditional love and how this concept was embraced last Christmas season.  Now, that is a great opportunity to spread God’s goodness and mercy to the secular world.

Becoming successful career women takes more than education and experience.  While they are vital to our careers, we also need to align ourselves with the right opportunities to be a blessing to others.  It allows us to gain a dynamic spiritual insight of how to believe God beyond every limitation.  It also positions our hearts to operate with the proper motives to enable God’s blessing to be released into us.

Here are a few steps to guide us to recognize and possess great opportunities at work:

  • God’s amazing grace gives us unmerited favor so take the leap of faith and try something new when presented with the opportunity.
  • There is always hope.  We shouldn’t dwell on our limitations or past failures, but recognize that those who succeed are the ones that don’t give up hope, but keep trying.
  • By applying wisdom, observe what other successful people have done, and practice in their footsteps, if it aligns with the word of God.
  • Career development takes time to build and each stage is necessary for us to become great.  Therefore, take courage and be strong.
  • Don’t despair humbling beginnings; allow God’s process to take its course with assurance and purity of mind.
  • We should have confidence in the Lord and seek Him in prayer daily for direction.  His glory will shine through us.

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20 (KJV)
